The Forward has struggled for game time in recent months
Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from Monaco for £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million, on a four-year contract with the option of another year in in 2015. Since then he has been an integral part of the team and considered one of the best young talents in the world.
The France International started this season off brightly and was regular during the first half of the season under Jose Mourinho. But since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, he has found minutes harder to come by. He has just made 18 starts in the league this campaign.
There was strong reports that the 22 year old could look for a summer exit as he is not happy with lack of game time and the speculations further intensified as he missed a place in the France squad.
Former Red Devils striker Louis Saha has urged Martial to stay with the Premier League giants and wants him to earn his place in squad.
“[Not being in the team] is part of the process at a big club – the competition is there,” Saha told Omnisport as quoted by Goal.
“We all want to be in the starting line-up at our club in order to play for the national team. It’s difficult, it’s not easy.
“Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves by saying, ‘If I’m not in the line-up, if something is off, then I need to work on it’. Other players can do it, like [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo. They don’t have bad patches because they clearly can adjust and challenge themselves. We cannot see much of their weaknesses.
“The goal is clear. He has the quality to be in the starting line-up of any club at any time. If that is not the case, it’s because something is still missing and he needs to keep working.”
