Dimitar Berbatov Makes Grand Claim Regarding Manchester United's Champions League Hopes

Dimitar Berbatov has warned doubters to hold their opinions regarding Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League.

The former Red Devils attacker firmly believes that Ole Solskjaer’s men have a strong chance of winning the entire thing after going past Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

United rallied back from a 0-2 defeat at Old Trafford with an impressive 1-3 showing of their own at the French capital. They have also climbed there way up to the top four for the Premier League after Jose Mourinho’s departure.

Their rise from one of the poorest starts to their campaigns in recent decades has been nothing but extraordinary.

The 32-year-old Bulgarian striker who is not shy of speaking his mind told the press, “No one’s going to dare write United off anymore, are they? As the saying goes, ‘Respect the giant, otherwise, you’ll suffer’.

“Their players will have been saying, ‘we’ll take anyone next’ in the dressing room on Wednesday, and they’re proving week after week that they’re a match for anyone.”

“Both they and Spurs have a chance of winning the Champions League now – they’re in the last eight, so why not?”

“Spurs are gaining more experience in the competition every season and they have great attacking talent, with Dele Alli returning soon to compliment Kane, Son and Eriksen. A bit of luck in the draw and you never know.”
