Former Manchester United Forward Wants To Try His Hand In Management

Wayne Rooney has expressed his desire to venture into management once he hangs up his boots.

The 33 year old had a decorated career with Manchester United where he laid his hands on all possible major trophies during his 14 year stay at the club. He went on to rejoin his boyhood club Everton but it was short lived as he found himself down in the pecking order.

He decided to try his hand on the US soil as he moved to MLS side DC United and has been a revelation since his arrival. The former English international is still going strong but on being asked about his future ambition he replied, “Management. My whole life I have been involved in football.

“It is something which I love and it is what I know so it would be a shame not to go into management and try it out, and hopefully be successful.

“I have seen so many players that I have played with have so much knowledge of the game and it is a shame not to see them give it a go and see what happens.

So that is what I want to do. I am working on doing my [coaching] badges. Hopefully when I finish playing I will get a chance somewhere and take it.”
