Herrera opens up on leaving United

Ander Herrera recently announced that he will be leaving the Red Devils at the end of this season.

The hard working midfielder was a Red Devil through and through and one of those players who gave everything for the club. However, it now seems that Ole despite all his “play for the badge” talk clearly is waiting for star signings to hide his managerial weakness and hence letting Herrera leave.

This is what the player had to say about his departure.

“It is a sad moment but sometimes the timing is just not right and you have to move on,” he told ManUtd.com.

“I have enjoyed playing for this club so much and felt so privileged to represent them. When you’re a United player, it is something special.

“When you leave such a big club you lose much much more than what they are losing. I owe the fans a lot.

“I can’t lie. I wasn’t born a Manchester United fan but a part of my heart will always be a red devil.”

“If I had to choose then I’d pick the Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm,” he added.

“That gave us three trophies for the season and it was a European trophy which is never easy to win.

“It also got us back into the Champions League too so it was a very important trophy.”
