According to reports in France, Manchester United are interested in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele and have also tabled a bid of £35 million for the 22-year old.

Dembele joined Lyon from Celtic last summer on a transfer fee of £19.7 million. Dembele has had a fine first season at the Lyon. In 45 appearances across all competitions, the Frenchman has scored 20 goals and has provided 5  assists.

Manchester United had a disappointing season where their only achievements were beating Juventus and PSG at their own backyards. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to bolster the club’s squad in the upcoming transfer market. The Red Devils have some really good forwards but they need some more reinforcements especially now that Romelu Lukaku is linked to  a move away from the club.

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona is reportedly an admirer of Moussa Dembele and has urged his former club to sign him.

Manchester United have made a bid of £35 million and even though it will be one of the highest amounts Lyon will be pocketing due to a transfer, the club won’t be eager to let go of one of their key players and if they do, they may not be willing to agree on £35 million.

Given how Dembele has done for Lyon, he could be a useful addition to Manchester United’s squad next season.
