Manchester United Tracking Nicolo Barella

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Italian international has been the subject of interests from Chelsea but the Blues are no more interested in the player. Barella has been one of the top rated players in the Serie-A and has been a key figure for his club so far this season.

His excellent form hasn’t gone unnoticed and a number of clubs including Chelsea and Inter Milan are believed to be courting his development. Chelsea targeted him as a replacement to Cesc Fabregas but were put off by Cagliari’s £45m price tag while Inter have some serious Financial Fairplay Issues.

Midfield is one of the well versed department at the Old Trafford currently but both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini’s future are unsure and should they leave the club in the summer Barella could fill in their place.

The youngster has seen his stock rising and it would be very difficult for the Italian club to keep a hold of him. However, a deal in the winter transfer window is unlikely to go ahead and the Red Devils need to wait until the season ends.
