Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Provides Jesse Lingard And Anthony Martial Injury Update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial’s injury.

Lingard appeared to have pulled his hamstring in the 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain which was later confirmed by the manager. Martial was visibly uncomfortable after injuring himself but choose to continue until the manager decided to bring on Juan Mata at the expense of the French teenager after the break.

United are yet to assess the severity of their injury and the players will now undergo a number of medical tests to determine the status of their injuries.

Both Lingard and Martial have been pretty pivotal in Solskjaer’s setup and it could be a big blow for the Red Devils with a number of tough fixtures piling up ahead.

United are set to visit Chelsea next Monday followed by a clash against Liverpool. They will then travel to Paris to take on PSG on 6th March and then will play Arsenal and Manchester City in back to back matches.

“You can’t give that [the injuries] as a reason [why we lost] because we have players like Mata and Sanchez to come on and they’re quality players.

“But, of course, Jesse and Anthony, they give us something. Let’s hope they’re not too serious.

”They’re muscle injuries, so we’ll just have to wait a couple of days.

“Jesse and Anthony are big parts of our squad and when they went out, in the second half we didn’t have enough movement,

“We maybe need to find a different way of playing when Jesse and Anthony are unavailable.”
