Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Reveals The State Of Manchester United Dressing Room After Watford Win

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Manchester United dressing room was like a funeral following their 2-1 win over Watford at the Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.

United were far from impressive in what was Solskjaer’s first match as the full-time manager. The Norwegian put pen to paper on a three year contract to replace Jose Mourinho at the club.

The Red Devils found it difficult to get into the rhythm as the visitors dominated the game mostly. But the home side found the breakthrough at the stroke of 28 minutes.

Luke Shaw collected a ball and laid an excellent weighted pass to Marcus Rashford who shot it past former Manchester United keeper Ben Foster. Anthony Martial then doubled the lead with 18 minutes still to play.

Abdoulaye Doucoure salvaged a late goal for his side but it was too late to secure a draw for Javi Garcia’s side.

Solskjaer said, “The feeling in the dressing room after was almost like a funeral.

“They [the players] were all sat there, it was very quiet, they were all disappointed in their performance at full-time.

“It’s not like jubilation because we won and we got the three points. They all know that this was a below-par performance, which is great because you want players to be honest with themselves. We know we can play so much better and they can do better.”
