Ole Gunnar Solskjaer To Be Named The Permanent Manchester United Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the verge of being appointed as the permanent manager of Manchester United.

United lost in the Premier League for the first time in the last match against Arsenal since Solskjaer took over the charge following the ouster of Jose Mourinho.

An underwhelming start to the season saw United huffing and puffing to see out games under the guidance of the former manager. But the Norwegian has restored the club’s identity with his free flowing attacking football destroying opponents as United closed the gap with the top four.

His understanding with the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw has reflected on their performance as all of them have been central to United’s recent resurgence.

A number of potential candidates were shortlisted for the managerial position. But Zinedine Zidane has just been named the Real Madrid manager while Tottenham Hotspur’s habit of faltering at crucial situations proved to be decisive in the selection.

It had been expected United chief executive would wait till the end of this season to name the new manager but delaying the announcement could affect their summer transfer strategy. The new manager is expected to be given a hefty transfer kitty to back United’s title credentials next season.

The Red Devils need to pay a compensation of £8m to Molde and Solskjaer is all set to be handed the mantle during the coming international break.
