Paris Saint-Germain Midfielder Pleased With Paul Pogba Suspension

If it was not clear on how Paul Pogba affects this Manchester United team perhaps Tuesday’s opposition player, Julian Draxler will be able to give you some clarity.

The Red Devils were defeated 0-2 by Paris Saint-Germain on 12 February. The visitors piled on the pressure from the opening whistle and ended up picking up a significant advantage over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men going into the second leg.

Goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe saw the away stands at Old Trafford light up while the United faithful had to witness the club’s first loss under their interim boss. However, Solskjaer’s frustrations did not end with just the two away goals on the night as Paul Pogba found himself at the end of two yellow cards after lunging out on Dani Alves late into the game.

The Frenchman has been suspended for the leftover tie and this is a major blow in United’s chances of sparking a comeback. Draxler said, “For me, Paul is the best player of Manchester United. He’s a very important player for the team and you could see he is fantastic [on Tuesday].”

“That is why we are very happy he will not play the second leg. I think they started very well so the pressure was not easy for us, but in the second half we were more confident and the pressure of Man United was a little bit less.”

“That helped us to improve our game so we found some space on the pitch and we used that very well and that is why we deserved to win.”
