Real Madrid Defender Kills Rumours Of Manchester United Move

Manchester United have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane.

In what was thought to be a favourable chance to acquire the Frenchman has all been extinguished now. Varane came out and notified the media that he will be staying with the Galacticos for the upcoming season.

“I’m going to continue here next year,” he told MARCA. “I’m sure we’re going to relive strong emotions. We have fought and we have tried hard, but it is true that we missed that spark in difficult moments.

“There are cycles,” the Frenchman added. “I have not been at my best level, but we will see the best Varane again. We have to evolve and Zidane is clear about it. We have to rebuild and be proactive in our change.”

Varane’s inconsistencies paired with a few injuries really painted a picture of disassociation with the Madrid side. Reports started to make the rounds about the 26-year-old’s unhappiness in the Santiago Bernabeu under three different managers.

United, who have the financial power to whisk away the top-pedigree centre-half was linked immediately due to their pressing need for a defender. However, after Zinedine Zidane’s reappointment as the Los Blancos head coach, the Red Devils will no have to look elsewhere for a dominant centre-back.
