Manchester United players with over 175 appearances Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United should keep the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision under the wraps.

Solskjaer became the interim manager of the club after United decided to sack Jose Mourinho following an underwhelming start to the season. The Norwegian has managed to steady the ship and his positive and attacking attitude has been an instant hit among the fans.

Reports of Solskjaer being handed the charge on a permanent basis has been doing the rounds but the club has taken a slow and steady policy as they are still reviewing the current application process.

A victory in the FA Cup clash against Chelsea would certainly make him the favourite for the job while good results against Liverpool, PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City would confirm his appointment it seems.

Giggs said, “Ole’s done a fantastic job. I’ve obviously been in touch with him and he’s given players freedom and also done well tactically. The confidence is huge. He’s got smiles back on their faces.”

“We’ve messed around far too long.

“When you’ve got someone who knows the club, who is tactically astute, clearly has the players and fans on board, that gives you lots of momentum.

“There will be bumps in the road but most fans imagine what he could do with the money that’s been spent the last few years.”

“I wouldn’t be in any rush because you don’t want to derail the current situation.

“Planning is more important than the announcement. Look at Guardiola. He got in Man City players he wanted the year before he took over.

“So, if it is Ole, keep it amongst the club and start planning. Our problem the past few years is that we were always playing catch-up.

“We should identify the two or three players we need if we’re going to win the Premier League and Champions League.”
