Manchester United defender Chris Smalling praised his team’s performance against Barcelona. The Red Devils as in their round of 16 tie against PSG, lost the home leg at Old Trafford. Only this time, it was an own goal from Luke Shaw that made the difference.
Smalling made headlines by his tackle on Lionel Messi which left the Argentine with a bloodied nose. Despite losing the game, Smalling praised Manchester United’s performance last night. Speaking of his team’s performance, Smalling said, “The whole team, we nullified them. I think there was only one other save for David de Gea. We knew we had to bring that intensity that they’re not used to.”
The win was Barcelona’s very first win at Old Trafford. Manchester United next play West Ham on Saturday before traveling to Camp Nou to play the second leg.
