Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Ed Woodward to spend £130 million on two defenders

Manchester United had perhaps the most disappointing season in the post-Ferguson era as they ended the season trophyless while their rivals Manchester City and Liverpool won a treble and the Champions League respectively.

Manchester United will reportedly spend heavily during the summer as Solskjaer is eager to have a strong squad to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool. Manchester United’s biggest concern is their defense. The club needs more firepower at the back and Solksjaer has reportedly urged Ed Woodward to sign Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United were interested in signing Maguire last summer following his performances at the World Cup. However, Leicester City demanded a sum of £75 million for him.

Maguire did well with Leicester City this season and his performances has attracted attention from Manchester City. Wan-Bissaka was perhaps the best right-back in the Premier League this season after Trent Alexander-Arnold. Arsenal are also interested in signing the young full-back.

The two players could cost Manchester United £130 million and Solskjaer wants Woodward to spend that amount.

Manchester United need some reinforcements and they need to sort out their defensive issues. Signing Maguire and Wan-Bissaka could help United a lot next season.
