Luke Shaw is one of the shortest Manchester United Players

If Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wants to keep his job at Old Trafford, he needs to start experimenting. The first step in doing so is firing Luke Shaw and putting Ayden Heaven into his corner.

After losing badly to Brentford last weekend and losing to League Two team Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, the Red Devils have had a wild start to the season and are currently in 14th place in the Premier League after six games and just seven points.

The fan support has put a lot of pressure on Amorim to keep his job because they believe he is tenacious with his philosophy and club selection, even though he has consistently failed since replacing Erik ten Hag in November 2024.

The Portuguese manager has an opportunity to buy himself some time before the international break and relieve pressure by securing a crucial three points when the club hosts recently promoted Sunderland at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday afternoon.

Amorim Must Drop Luke Shaw and Start Ayden Heaven

According to the 40-year-old, “I think again the fun part is trying to adapt your way of seeing football to every system of the opponent,” he told Owen Hargreaves of TNT Sports.

“I say the same thing all the time. This is about to change. We intend to modify the system. It isn’t a typical system, though, and switching between them can occasionally take longer. It is what I am doing. All I’m doing is coaching the team the way I view football.

He noted that even he is not always sure what to anticipate and that his team is too erratic. The irony is that you already know how the game will go [if] we have control, but you need to understand as a team, not the result.

“This is expected to occur. The game will run as follows; however, we might lose due to a single set piece or transition. “You can never be sure with my team right now.” When United hosts Sunderland, who were recently promoted, on Saturday, they will resume play.
