Aston Villa is now in the running to capture Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan before Monday’s transfer market ends. The Midlands club is considering the England international as a potential replacement for Jhon Duran, who was transferred to Al-Nassr, although a move to Villa Park is regarded as unlikely. Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and AC Milan are among the teams that have expressed interest in Rashford since he disclosed that he was thinking about leaving Old Trafford.

Since the Europa League victory over Viktoria Plzen on December 12, the 27-year-old has not played for United and has only been benched once under new head coach Ruben Amorim. If he didn’t “give the maximum every day,” the Portuguese remarked last week, he would prefer to bench his 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital than the striker.

Aston Villa is interested in Man United star

Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim has barred the 60-cap England international after he declared in December that he was “ready for a new challenge.” Amorim has been particularly critical of Rashford’s perceived lack of commitment on the training field. However, Red Devils veteran Wayne Rooney feels Rashford is in dire need of a new beginning, as his future at Old Trafford suddenly appears quite grim.

According to Rooney’s comments on the Stick To Football podcast, “I’ve spoken to Marcus a couple of times, and I’ve given him my thoughts and feelings that he needs to leave the football club because whatever is going on in his life and at Manchester United, he’s not the same.” He needs to leave the club in order to start over. It’s absurd that your manager is publicly stating that you’re not receiving proper training. The Premier League’s January window closes at 11 p.m. on Monday, giving Villa until then to finalize a transfer for Rashford.
