Barcelona have set a €45 million price tag for Alejandro Balde as Manchester United intensify their pursuit of the Spanish left-back before the summer transfer window closes.

As per SPORT, La Liga champions are willing to cash in on the 22-year-old academy graduate despite his contract running for another two years with a staggering €1 billion release clause.
Club bosses believe the €45m fee represents a fair valuation as they seek to raise funds following another summer of significant spending.
Hansi Flick’s decision to leave Balde out of Barcelona’s matchday squad for Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing of Elche has fuelled speculation that a summer departure is imminent.
The Barcelona manager openly addressed the situation, revealing he had spoken directly with the player about his mindset.
“I spoke with Alejandro this morning and told him that I think he’s not here at 100%,” Flick explained before the match.
“Clear your mind and then we’ll talk.”
The German coach later clarified he had not instructed Balde to leave, stating:
“I spoke with him this morning, I told him to think about it and that we’ll talk again tomorrow.”
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick views Balde as an ideal addition to provide cover and competition for Luke Shaw as the Red Devils prepare for their Champions League return this season.
United initially targeted England international Lewis Hall, but Newcastle United made it clear the teenager was not for sale.
Balde himself appears to be pushing for the move and would welcome a switch to Old Trafford.
The defender previously hinted at his admiration for United in a 2020 TikTok Q&A, responding “United” when asked to name a club other than Barcelona.
Aston Villa and Benfica have also registered interest, with the Portuguese club already seeing an offer rejected due to the proposed fee.
However, Barcelona’s €45m valuation could prove decisive in determining Balde’s next destination.
The Spain international, who has seven caps but none since 2023, now faces a crucial decision as the transfer deadline approaches.
