BBC Football Correspondent Simon Stone has blasted Ed Woodward for Paul Pogba’s precarious condition at Manchester United. ,
“What I would say is, Manchester United paid a club-record fee for Paul Pogba – £89m,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.
“And Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, made it very clear that virtually as soon as Pogba left Manchester United for Juventus in the first place they were trying to work on how to get him back.
“They invested a lot in Paul Pogba and there’s a lot invested in him, not just financially but in terms of the social media footprint.
“Where I kind of question United is that they brought in this guy and paid so much money for him, and then didn’t really construct a team around him.
“So we’ll look at Lukaku, we’ll look at Sanchez, Ibrahimovic obviously who arrived at the same time, and you kind of think: where do these people all fit in?”
