Benoît Badiashile admits he made right decision to turn down Man United.

The 19-year old Monaco defender has turned down a move to Old Trafford last summer in order to continue his development with the French club.

The Red Devils were on the lookout for a new partner for club captain Harry Maguire to bolster their defensive options.

Badiashile fitted the bill perfectly and United were ready to splurge £22 million for the young centre-back but a move failed to materialise.

Since signing his professional contract in 2018, Badiashile made 71 appearances for the Ligue 1 club and scored three goals.

‘It was the right choice, first off is I have not enjoyed good seasons since I have been at Monaco,’ Badiashile told RMC.

‘We played to stay up and so now I am really experiencing the top of the table and I think that continuing with the club that formed me was the right decision and this is being proved by the season that we are having.’

‘No, not at all.’ said the 19-year-old when asked if he regretted not joining Old Trafford.
