Boost for Manchester United in pursuit of Juventus star

The Turin side have lowered their valuation of the player

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware.

They are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window and have already completed two signings. Teenage full-back Diogo Dalot from Porto, while a £52.5 million fee has been agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazil international Fred.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League last term, Jose Mourinho was not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.

The Club’s priority is to sign new full backs as Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw have been linked with a summer exit. Young and Valencia both will turn 33 ahead of the next season and are nearing the tail end of their career.

With the signing of Dalot, the Red Devils have sorted their right-back situation and now focusing on signing a new left-back. They have been heavily linked with a for Juventus star Alex Sandro for the past couple of months, who is seen as the perfect fit for the side by Mourinho.

The Brazilian joined the Serie A giants from Porto three years ago for £22.9 million and has established himself as one of the best left sided players in the world. He is very versatile and can play anywhere along that flank.

The 27 year old enjoyed another productive campaign last season, playing more than 40 games in all competitions and helping his side to win their 7th consecutive Serie A title.

It has been reported that the Turin side wants £50 million for their star defender which is deemed too steep by the Premier League giants. But they have received a boost in their pursuit of him.

Juventus will let Sandro leave the club for a fee between €35-40 million this summer, according to reports from Italy. They are looking to sell him in order to finance a transfer for either Matteo Darmian or Juan Bernat.
