Manchester United might have to give up on signing Jadon Sancho this summer according to the latest update by Lucien Favre.

Jadon Sancho has been Manchester United’s top summer target this season but the club has failed to put an agreement in place.

Dortmund manager Lucien Favre has confirmed that Sancho is going nowhere and has committed to spending the 2020-21 campaign in Germany.

“We need him, no question. Everyone was happy that he stayed,” Favre told Swiss news agency Keystone-SDA, possibly ending United’s chances of signing the forward this summer.

“We don’t need to talk long about its qualities – they are enormous. He scores and sets up a lot of goals and can often make all the difference.

“But there are some details that Sancho needs to improve. That is quite normal for a 20-year-old.”

Dortmund director Michael Zorc said in August, “We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all our questions,” he stated.

“Last summer we adjusted the salary to the performance development of Jadon. In this context, we have extended the contract until 2023.”

It seems like United’s hope of signing the England international this summer has shattered and they will be looking for alternatives with Gareth Bale being the latest potential target for the Red Devils.
