Solksjaer closed the door on new arrivals.

But reports claim that a player is keen on a move.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Bournemouth striker Joshua King wants to join Manchester United and is ready to head to Carrington to complete his move before the January transfer window deadline.

“Josh King wants the proposed transfer from Bournemouth to Manchester United to happen and is ready to head north if an agreement can be reached between the clubs,” Ornstein tweeted on Friday. The Cherries have already started their search for potential replacements for the 28-year-old, as per the journalist.

The Norway international, who played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for United U23s between 2009 and 2011, is believed to be Ole’s priority option to replace Marcus Rashford who is set to miss up to three months with a back injury.

The Telegraph earlier reported that The Red Devils’ opening bid for King was rejected . Now United are considering a second attempt to land him before the transfer window deadline. Bournmouth manager is reluctant to let the striker leave the Vitality Stadium but admits the player’s future is out of his hands. Solskjaer, in turn, doesn’t expect any more January arrivals at Old Trafford after Bruno Fernandes’ signing earlier this week.
