Manchester United are going through a tough time in September so far. After suffering a defeat in the Champions League opener following an exit from EFL Cup, they suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season. Aston Villa claimed a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford after a dramatic end.

Kortney Hause scored a winner for the Villa in the 88th minute but the centre-back conceded a penalty. Bruno Fernandes got a chance to equalise for the Red Devils through a penalty but he missed the opportunity.

Fans felt down after the defeat and the 27-year-old midfielder expressed his feelings on social media after the game, insisting there is no time for excuses.

He wrote in the long emotional message, “I’m my biggest critic but as always I’ll use it to drive me forward. More than my disappointment though, the team’s loss today is the most important. I’ll be ready next time.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side will now be back in Champions League action as they welcome Villarreal to Old Trafford. It will be their first meeting with Spanish giants since the Europa League final.
