Chris Smalling Fires Warning To Paris Saint Germain

Chris Smalling insists Manchester United’s recent run of good results will be of much help when they host Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday in the Champions League round of 16 clash at the Old Trafford.

Smalling made a winning return from injury in the 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League. A brace from Paul Pogba and a brilliant individual effort from Anthony Martial helped the Red Devils to strengthen their position in the top four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred to rest Victor Lindelof keeping an eye on the crucial game while Eric Bailly had a cameo appearance for the last few minutes on Saturday.

Smalling who extended his stay a few days ago is likely to sit out this game as Solskjaer is likely to go with Bailly and Lindelof as his preferred backline pairing.

Smalling believes they are ready to welcome the French side at the Old Trafford which is expected to be a mouth watering match. “We all knew the run of fixtures we have coming up and we are all relishing that.

“We knew today (Saturday) it was about character and if we can get up for PSG and Liverpool, it was about coming here and making sure we got the three points. The mood going into PSG is as good as ever.”
