France coach Didier Deschamps has said that he wants Anthony Martial to continue his good form for Manchester United. Martial has produced some brilliant performances for Manchester United lately, scoring 5 goals in his last 6 matches.

His performances has Deschamps selecting him in France’s squad for their Nations League match against Netherlands and a friendly against Uruguay.

This is Martial’s first recall to the national team since March. Martial made his debut for France against Portugal in 2015. His only goal for the national team has come in a friendly against Italy at Bari in 2016. He has also provided four assists for the national team.

Speaking about Martial, Deschamps said, “Anthony has been with the national team for a while now. He’s experienced both good and bad times, which is also the case for his club. What he’s currently achieving with Manchester United is closer to what he’s able to do regularly. I’m talking about commitment and efficiency in front of goal.

He’s a young player and I hope he is becoming more mature. He has proved that on the pitch by how important he’s been for Manchester United for a few weeks already. It’s obvious by Jose Mourinho’s choice [to start Martial] and what he’s doing on the pitch.”

Martial will hope to give in another strong performance on Sunday when they take on rivals Manchester City.
