Dimitar Berbatov Not Too Convinced Over Alexis Sanchez's Future At Manchester United

Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov believes Alexis Sanchez’s future at Old Trafford could possibly end if the Chilean fails to adapt.

Other than managing a horrific record of just 3 goals Premier League goals for the Red Devils, Sanchez looked worryingly bad during his mid-week substitute appearance in the 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain defeat.

The winger came on in the second half but could hardly affect his side’s attack especially when United were 2 goals down. There was plenty of outrage amongst the Red Devils fanbase over the player who understandably has the highest wage bill in the English top-flight.

Berbatov told Manchester Evening News, “Sanchez looks a bit lost on the pitch right now. He’s almost trying too hard and over-complicating things, which is then leading to more mistakes. He’s been at the club for a while now and people will think he should have adapted to the team more – that’s what training sessions are for.”

“Sanchez needs game time to find his rhythm but when Rashford and Martial are fit, they play, so it’s difficult for him. If he continues to over-complicate things, it’s not going to work out.”

The 30-year-old’s name has been included in exit talks this past month but realistically no club would be willing to take him mostly due to his mammoth sized contract.

Sanchez’s weak display in the Champions League was even made viral over a certain instant from Tuesday’s match. Other than losing the ball on countless occasions, the Chilean was taken around a trip by the confident duo of Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria on the sidelines.

When asked about the player, Ole Solskjaer said, “I can’t do anything about Alexis Sanchez. When he plays he needs to find himself because we know there’s a quality player there.”
