Donny van de Beek adviced to leave Man United this summer

Donny van de Beek is ‘too good’ to be on the bench.

This is according to former Ajax forward Van der Vaart who believes Van de Beek should have joined Borussia Dortmund in the first place.

The 24-year old midfielder struggled to find his place in the first team in his debut season.

He completed a £40million move to Old Trafford last summer from boyhood club Ajax.

He made only four Premier League starts and scored only once in 36 matches in all competitions.

‘He fit perfectly into the Ajax system, but he doesn’t fit at Manchester United,’ Van der Vaart told ESPN.

‘If nobody leaves United [this summer], he will be lucky to get in the starting line-up.

‘He is far too good to sit on the bench for two seasons. He needs minutes very quickly. He is still young, but time flies.

‘A club like Borussia Dortmund would have been a better step for him. Manchester United might be a step too far for him.’
