The legendary goalkeeper is happy as Ajax's CEO

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has ruled out any return to the club as their sporting director.

A number of people are linked to become Manchester United’s sporting director. They are FA technical director Dan Ashworth, RB Leipzig’s Paul Mitchell and Roma’s Monchi.

Edwin van der sar is currently Ajax’s CEO and wants to stay in that role. He said, “I still have a two-year contract. But Ajax is my club and I would like to stay longer.”

Van der Sar joined Manchester United from Fulham in 2005. He played a total of 266 matches for the club from 2005-2011. During his time at the club, van der Sar won four Premier League titles, a football League Cup, 2 Community Shields,a Club World Cup and the Champions League.

He won the Premier League’s Golden Glove for the 2008-09 season and was in the Premier League Team of the year on three occasions.
