Erik ten Hag reveals why he chose Manchester United role.

The Dutch manager has got offer from a different club with better foundation but he chose Manchester United to take a new challenge.

He has already played his final game with Ajax and is expected to arrive in England this week.

Ten Hag expects a major overhaul in the summer with 8-10 players expected to leave Old Trafford.

He went on explaining why he took such a challenging role at Manchester United.

“I had chances to work at a different club, with a better foundation,” Ten Hag told De Telegraaf.

“But I chose United. Things have to get addressed there and that’s a challenge. The club and I are on the same wavelength about how I want to do this.”

He is not worried about the spotlight that comes with the role at Man United.

“That has an impact, but it should never have an influence in the dressing room,” he noted.

“Maybe the criticism is fiercer there. The club simply has a bigger fanbase and more reach than Ajax, because England is much bigger, the Premier League is much bigger and basically everything is much bigger.
