Erik ten Hag blames the club’s busy fixture for Marcus Rashford’s injury.

The Dutch boss has called for protection for his players after Marcus Rashford picked up a groin injury yesterday against Everton.

The Everton game was the club’s third Premier League game in the space of just six days.

United won 2-0 against Sean Dyche’s men but the victory was overshadowed by Rashford’s injury.

Ten Hag joked: “You are a doctor? No one can say [how bad the injury is].

“We have to wait. It can be worse but it can also be good, we don’t know. We have to wait a couple of hours, so one or two days, then we can get a diagnosis.”

Erik ten Hag doesn’t know the extent of the injury and hopes he comes back on the pitch very soon.

He further said: “We have to wait — it doesn’t look well.

“Once again, it is due to the schedule, it can’t be that you play three games in six days. We have to protect our players.”

The England international has been a pivotal figure for Man United this season bagging 27 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
