Erik ten Hag gives an update on Sabitzer and Weghorst's future

Both Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer played in the Carabao Cup final.

The Red Devils signed Weghorst and Sabitzer on a six-month loan deal until the end of this season.

Marcel Sabitzer was signed to replace Christian Eriksen who is expected to be out for the remainder of the season.

Man United does not have the option to make the deal permanent for both players and manager Erik ten Hag believes it’s too early to decide on their future.

Weghorst has started all 12 games for United since his arrival in January and has been pivotal to United’s attack.

He has often dropped deep in recent games and broke up play as a combative No.10.

On the other hand, Sabitzer has made six appearances for the Red Devils and has often been decisive for Ten Hag’s side.

United are eager to make the deal permanent as Bayern Munich are open to offloading Sabitzer in the summer.

“I think it’s much too quick, much too soon to talk about that,” Ten Hag said. “First, we are in this season. That is where the only focus has to be. No distractions for what is coming next season.

“No, we are in this season and we are in the right positon in this moment. This is the position we want to be because we are competing in three competitions.”
