Erik ten Hag is facing an injury crisis with both defenders.

Man United’s first-choice defenders Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have picked up injuries in the 2-2 draw with Sevilla last night.

Manager Erik Ten Hag admitted that both defenders will be ruled out for the next two games.

Martinez looked in discomfort while he left the pitch accompanied by his international teammates Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel.

On the other hand, Raphael Varane was taken off at half-time for an undisclosed injury.

The club is sweating over the fitness of several first-team players like Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Alejandro Garnacho and Donny van de Beek.

“It is not the area, I can’t tell [what it is] but it is not the area of achilles,” said Ten Hag.

“I think he will not play on Sunday. It looks like that but I can’t say what the diagnosis is and I prefer to wait and say what it is. We have very good replacements with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw so we have players who can replace them [Martinez and Varane] but of course it is a miss.”
