Erik ten Hag of Manchester United is still hoping to recruit midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain to his side in time for the 2024-2025 campaign. Although the Uruguayan great was linked to the Red Devils last month, nothing has happened since.
According to Sky Sports, the Premier League team has already made a preliminary move to sign Ugarte in an attempt to expand their midfield options before the new season begins. Weeks later, Jamie Jackson of The Guardian reports that Ten Hag is still interested in Ugarte and hopes to sign him this summer to play for Manchester United.
Nevertheless, in order to complete the trade, United must sell Casemiro, and they anticipate receiving about £38 million in return. Although the Premier League team has not yet received any formal approaches, Saudi Arabia is showing interest in the seasoned star.
Man Utd learn to sign key Ten Hag objective, but superstar must be sold first
But before they make a move for one of their current midfield players, Man Utd isn’t expected to make a £38 million offer for Ugarte. It is rumoured that before they can complete Ugarte’s transfer, Man Utd will have to trade five-time Champions League winner Casemiro.
After a difficult season the previous year, the Red Devils are pressing to sell Casemiro because the Brazilian is sadly past his prime. Casemiro, on the other hand, would be content to go since he could travel to Saudi Arabia and land one last significant deal.
