Erik ten Hag knows they can’t challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford at the start of the 2022/23 season and has guided Man United to win their first silverware in six years with the Carabao Cup.
Man United finished sixth in the league last term but are currently third in the standings and hoping for European qualification for the next season.
The Red Devils are competing both in the FA Cup and Europa League and would hope to win a treble this season.
Erik ten Hag is happy with Man United’s progress this campaign and believes the team can compete at the top end of the table next season.
Ten Hag said: “I think we have made good progress, but we have to acknowledge there is still a gap.
“I couldn’t expect that we close that gap that quickly. What we want is we want to win every game, no matter which opponent.
“Also we have beaten all the top teams so we are capable to do it. So now we have to make the next step to do that more dominant, more consistent. So we have some steps to take. But we know, there is time, we can do it.”
