Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has urged his old club to move for Victor Osimhen, calling the Nigerian striker a “gladiator” who would thrive at Old Trafford.

Patrice Evra: Ignoring Osimhen Now Would Be a Huge Mistake for Man United

The Frenchman’s comments come despite Osimhen’s surprise loan switch to Galatasaray from Napoli last summer.

Many elite European clubs hesitated to trigger the striker’s release clause, but Evra believes Manchester United cannot afford to make the same mistake

“People underestimate the Turkish league, but Osimhen proves his class every week,” Evra said.

“He fights for every ball. The fans in Istanbul love his passion. United need that energy right now.”

Evra described Galatasaray’s loan capture of the former Lille star as a “pure masterstroke” for the Turkish champions.

However, he insists the move should not stop United from pursuing the 25-year-old in the near future.

“Why wait? Osimhen escapes a toxic situation at Napoli and stays competitive in Europe.

Galatasaray win because they have a world-class asset for the Europa League. But Manchester United must watch closely,” Evra added.

The striker’s loan deal reportedly includes a break clause that could activate as early as January.

Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested, but Evra believes United hold an advantage.

“United need a real number nine. Osimhen scores goals, pressures defenders, and leads the line. He has everything,” Evra said.

Meanwhile, speculation continues around Old Trafford as the Red Devils refine their attacking options.

Osimhen once stood as a dream target for United supporters. Evra now wants the club’s hierarchy to turn that dream into reality.

“If United hesitate again, someone else will take him. That would be a huge mistake,” Evra warned.

For now, Osimhen continues to impress in Istanbul. But with Evra’s latest plea, the pressure mounts on Manchester United to act before rivals steal the signature of one of Europe’s most lethal strikers
