Flamengo not ready to pay €20m to Man United for Andreas Pereira

Flamengo is not ready to pay such a hefty price to sign Andreas Pereira.

According to Youtuber Paparazzo Rubro Negro (h/t Sportwitness), Flamengo are reluctant to pay €20m to secure the permanent signing of Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira.

The 25-year-old failed to convince the coaching hierarchy at Manchester United and has been shipped out on various loan deals in recent years.

The latest tint saw him join the Brazilian club in August 2021. Premier League club placed their bets on Pereira’s performances and added an option to make the deal permanent for €20m.

The 25-year-old scored five goals and one assist in 18 games for the Mengão.

Flamengo is not ready to pay such a hefty price to sign the Brazilian. It is believed that the club is currently holding talks to lower United’s asking price. Mengão could go up to €6m to secure the services of the midfielder.

If the Brazilian club gets ready to pay €20m for Pereira, it would make him their record signing. If both clubs cannot find a middle ground, the 25-year-old would end up making his way to Old Trafford.
