Former Liverpool and Manchester United Player, and current football pundit, Michael Owen has compared the two clubs after the Reds won 2-0 against Salzburg on Tuesday.
Klopp’s side leads by 8 points in the Premier League and they have already secured a place in the Champions League knockout stages after the Austria triumph.
“I said last season it was going to be either Liverpool or Man City who wins the Champions League and I think it’s going to be the same again,” Owen clarified. “The Premier League is the strongest competition at the moment and Liverpool are that team who is stronger than anyone.
“Six months ago I thought it couldn’t get any better. Winning the Premier League is the holy grail for Liverpool now but apart from that can it get any better? This is one of the best club teams we have seen in our lifetime. It’s a phenomenal team and it’s right up there with the great Manchester United sides, Chelsea under Jose Mourinho and Man City. It’s just an unbelievable team.”
Although it’s true that Liverpool is going very strong, reaching to Manchester United’s level is going to take some time.
