England manager Gareth Southgate has hailed Marcus Rashford’s contribution insisting the player has all the potential to be a top rated forward in future.
Rashford has become the forefront of the Manchester United attack since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in. the youngster has redefined his playing style as he has dislodged Romelu Lukaku as the preferred no 9 of the Red Devils.
The interim manager has been using the 21 year old in a more central role and he has rejuvenated himself in that position scoring five in the last six matches.
His excellent form has also inspired the Red Devils to close the gap to top four as the 20 time English champions are just three points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea who lost to Arsenal.
Southgate said, “Given that he’s only 21, he will definitely continue to improve.
“When you have a mindset like he has and a desire to be as good as he wants to be, then that will happen.
“He’s a tremendous talent, we’ve known that for a long time and with us, he’s scored three goals in the period after the World Cup.
“And he’s showing great signs with his club of maturing and getting stronger and playing with the belief – and that is so important for young players.”
