According to their former head scout, Alejandro Garnacho has informed his agent that he would love to remain in the Premier League after leaving Manchester United.
“The 20-year-old is settled in England and wants to play at the highest level,” Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for more than ten years during the club’s most successful period and is still very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider.
When the transfer market opens, a number of English teams, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Aston Villa, may make a move after closely monitoring his circumstances. This comes after Football Insider reported on June 19 that Man United wants to raise the asking price for the winger by starting a bidding battle.
According to sources, United will begin the bidding at about £50 million because they want to get rid of him as soon as possible following his public spat with Ruben Amorim. In May, Brown informed Football Insider that United and Amorim were prepared to let Garnacho go, but Chelsea was planning a new transfer for him.
Alejandro Garnacho edges closer to Man United exit
The United No. 17 was seen wearing a Villa shirt with the words “Rashford 9” printed on the back as he walked away from the camera between a Porsche and a Lamborghini. Garnacho’s choice might be seen as a gesture of solidarity with his old comrade, but his recent disregard for his original club has drawn criticism.
During a post-season squad meeting, Garnacho apparently allegedly enraged his head coach, Ruben Amorim, who advised him to find a new club. Despite interest from several teams, including Arsenal, the United academy graduate is thought to wish to remain in England.
With 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 games last season, Garnacho had his best individual stats of his early career. Mason Mount is another player who might be leaving Old Trafford this summer after yet another disappointing campaign since joining from Chelsea.
Aston Villa wants to sign Mount, and they are closely monitoring his status in case he is permitted to depart, Brown told Football Insider on June 20.
