Garry Neville explains why United’s new signing has impressed him.
Bruno Fernandes, 25, joined the Red Devils last January for an initial fee of £47m from Sporting Lisbon. He easily adapted to the Premiere League since his first game for United and has been impressing the club with his staggering perfomances.
He already played 11 games and scored four goals for the club in all competitions.
“It is a long time since I have seen a player have an impact on a team like this,” Neville told Sky Sports during the first half of United’s game with Sheffield United.
“He has single handedly dragged Manchester United, who were looking pretty average, to a pretty decent team.
“Some of his play is wonderful and everything seems to revolve around him. He has settled in right away.”
Neville added: “If you would have said to me, ‘would a midfield player of his type come in and have this impact?’ I would have said, ‘no. Manchester United need three or four players to make that type of impact.’
“But his performance levels and points return since he came in, his influence… he is just involved in everything and he has got the arrogance on the ball and the quality.”
