Man United captain furious over decision to overturn the penalty in West Brom draw.

Harry Maguire hammered referee Craig Pawson for allowing Mbaye Diagne’s early goal to stand even though it was clear that Victor Lindelof was fouled.

The England international was also furious about disallowing a spot-kick in the second half.

“It was a tough start for ourselves with the goal we conceded, but for me it’s a foul for the goal,” Maguire said.

“We were so certain it was a penalty. I’m not sure why they needed to send him [the referee] to a monitor. The clip was minimal but it was a penalty. It seems like the decisions are going against us.

“We can’t be relying on VAR decisions — we have to improve.”

He added: “And obviously at the end, we huffed and puffed and it’s a great save by Sam at the end. It’s disappointing to come away with a point, we felt we deserved more. We played the game in their half, we created a lot of chances — for sure we can do more, we can improve, enough to win the game, but it’s disappointing.

“Sometimes we played a little bit too slow but in the second half we played with a great tempo and on another day, we’d score two or three goals, but for sure we can improve.
