Manchester United have a long list of players they would like to sign this January but Kalidou Koulibaly by far tops the list by a fair margin.
Even after the departure of Jose Mourinho from Old Trafford, the Red Devils are looking to sign one of the Portuguese’s top transfer targets. The team might have improved on the offensive end of the pitch under interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but Ed Woodward is still eager to sanction funds for necessary additions.
United’s defence remains a concern with none of the centre-halfs really coming into form this season. Koulibaly is certainly a dominant figure who can be expected to bring around the same type of change that Virgil van Dijk has at Liverpool.
The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best centre-halfs in the Serie A and maybe even in the European football. According to reports, Napoli has already rejected a bid worth £95m for Koulibaly and quite rightfully so.
Koulibaly is a giant figure standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall with the athletic abilities to become effective on both ends of the pitch. He is strong, good with the ball and incredibly agile for a man of his length.
Plenty of high profile teams admire the Senegal international and would like him in their respective sides. United will have to break their bank to lure him away from Carlo Ancelotti.
