How Manchester United Legend Holds Key To Jadon Sancho Transfer

According to The Daily Mail, Rio Ferdinand has been linked with the sporting director post at Manchester United and this could play a major role in the club’s immediate future.

Jadon Sancho is a top target for the Red Devils this summer with Borussia Dortmund valuing him at over £100m. Plenty reckons that Ferdinand could be a good fit inside the Old Trafford recruitment staff even if he lacks the experience to be thrust into such an important role.

The Englishman who spent 12 years wearing the red colour on his chest is a loyal representative of the club even post his retirement. He was one of the best defensive talisman for many years and still is very passionate about the team.

Ferdinand, just like Sancho was born in South London and has been acquainted with the winger at a very early age.

The 40-year-old told Goal.com, “I would take him [at United] all day. English, young, hungry and talented, that’s all I need to know.

“I’ve known Jadon since he was a kid, through friends. He has got the mentality. The mentality is a big part of it whether he has the physical attributes or not.

“So if someone asked me whether I would take Jadon Sancho, with all due respect to Borussia Dortmund, I would say yes, 100 per cent.”

Sancho retweeted the link to this particular interview which was derivative enough for United fans. The youngster clearly respects the opinion of his senior compatriot which could prove to be the key factor in his potential switch to Manchester.
