Manchester United defender has left international squad early.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s first taste of the England senior setup has ended prematurely because of a back problem.

The Manchester United summer arrival has been forced to withdraw from the England squad to face Bulgaria and Kosovo because of a back injury.

Wan-Bissaka has settled in impressively at United since his summer arrival from Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old’s form led to him being rewarded with a maiden senior call-up for the home Euro 2020 qualifiers, but he will now have to wait for his first senior England cap, and is also a doubt for Manchester United’s next Premier League fixture, at home against Leicester on 14 September.

“Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been forced to withdraw from the England squad due to a back issue. Despite training with his colleagues at St George’s Park, he has had to return to United for treatment”, a statement from the Red Devils said.

United will be sweating on Wan-Bissaka’s fitness over the next two days, as they do not have many options to replace him at right-back.

Phil Jones is a possible option, though he is yet to even be included on the United bench this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may also consider shifting the back four around and bringing youngster Axel Tuanzebe into the line-up, though Marcos Rojo would be a more likely option from the start.
