The Alexis Sanchez transfer saga has dragged on with yet another twist coming its way. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now claimed that the Chilean is whiskers away from joining Italian giants Inter Milan.

Tweeting about the deal, Di Marzio wrote:

“Inter are in talks with Man United for Alexis Sanchez. Loan until June 2020 + buy option for €15M. Part of the wage would be paid by Man Utd too. Alexis asked to the club and to Solskjaer to join Inter. Now it just depends by Man United decision.”

Sanchez joined United 18 months ago from Arsenal but has hardly any good times to remember since his arrival at Old Trafford. The 30-year-old has failed to replicate his form from The Emirates and has been a mere shadow of his former self.

Added to that, Sanchez has also been plagued with injuries, further reducing his chances of sealing a first-team spot at Manchester United.

A few days ago, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Sanchez was a part of his plans despite his on-going struggles with form and injuries. That, however, may not be the story when the transfer window slams shut on September 2.
