Jesse Lingard has turned the heat on his teammates insisting the club to maintain the pressure on their city rivals.

Manchester United are due to travel to Etihad stadium to take on Manchester City which is expected to be the star show of the weekend. City have been cruising past all the teams banging goals after goals while United have managed to groove back to the rhythm steadily.

Last season, City went ahead 2-0 half time and had the prospect of sealing their title with a victory over their cross town rivals. But a second half brace from Paul Pogba and a late winner from Chris Smalling delayed City’s title celebration.

Lingard who came back from an injury expecting a similar situation this time. “The win last season there was a mad feeling and, hopefully, we can do it again.

“We’ve done well there and it’s just about fine margins sometimes. We kept our mental state last season and got the win in the end.

“The way the fans were supporting us, even at 2-0 down, they stayed with us and backed us throughout the game and that spurred us on.”

“I think these big games are what you play for,

“The more pressure there is, you fire off that pressure. They’re the games you want to be involved in, like everyone else.

“The most important thing is to believe, in ourselves, that we can do it. I believe in this team.”
