Jose Mourinho Wants Jesse Lingard At Tottenham

Jesse Lingard is a transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur by the request of Jose Mourinho.

When the Portuguese was still in charge of Manchester United, Lingard featured heavily in midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave the Englishman the same opportunities but he failed to impress, quickly dropping down the pecking order. Now, youngsters, Daniel James and Mason Greenwood features more regularly than Lingard with regulars Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes setting the standards.

ESPN claims that negotiations are already underway between United and Tottenham’s Daniel Levy. Mourinho wants to reunite with his energetic attacking midfielder while offloading Dele Alli elsewhere.

PSG seem keen on signing the Spurs midfielder but are yet to submit a favourable offer. United will be glad to cash in on a player who no longer features heavily under the manager. With the arrival of Donny van de Beek, current players suffer even more in the midfield like Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata as well.

If Lingard were to leave, the Red Devils will look to add more strength to other areas. United badly need more cover at left-back and more quality next to Harry Maguire in defence. The current lineup of Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof is not cutting it as seen clearly in the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
