Joshua Zirkzee’s Effort to Persuade Jamal Musiala to Join Manchester United
Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United’s latest attacking addition, tried his best to bring Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
Despite being teammates in the past at Bayern, Musiala remained firm in his commitment to the German champions.
Zirkzee, who joined United from Bologna for £36 million, sparked speculation when a fan asked him outside Carrington if he could convince Musiala to follow him to Manchester.
With a smile, the Dutch forward responded, “I’ve tried, I’ve tried!” This lighthearted moment quickly went viral on social media, creating a buzz among United supporters.
Musiala, 21, addressed the comments in an interview with German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, saying,
“You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together one day. I told Josh he should come back to Bayern too. But it’s all just banter – nothing serious.”
Despite the playful exchanges, Musiala made it clear he is happy at Bayern, though he acknowledged that “things can change quickly in football.”
Currently under contract with Bayern until 2026, Musiala is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
While speculation about his future continues, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl emphasized how vital the midfielder is to the club, calling him “outstanding” after his stellar performances at Euro 2024.
For now, Musiala seems focused on his journey with Bayern, but with friends like Zirkzee at United, the door to the Premier League may not be entirely closed.
