Latest: Injury update on Manchester United captain Maguire

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally had some good luck when it came to giving updates on injuries of players.

The Red Devils romped to a 3-0 win last night against Derby County last night in the 5th round of the FA Cup match.

They were however, fear struck at the end of the first half when their captain Harry Maguire had to walk off and was replaced by Phil Jones.

United have had a troubled season in terms of injuries and with Maguire going off, the defence was lacking a leader.

Ole has now brushed away fears of Maguire being out for the long term. Although he will most probably be out for the weekend derby clash against Manchester City.

Asked how long Maguire might be out for, having missed the tie with City, the boss said: “We don’t know. It is not going to be a long term one.

“But I don’t think he will be ready for the weekend. Let’s see.”

He was replaced by Phil Jones in the second half who has not played for a long time and United had an injury fear for him too as he was seen limping on the pitch later in the match.

“Jones had cramp. It was his first 90 minutes for a while, but he came through it. It was just cramp.”

Their next match is up against the dangerous Manchester City and Ole will know that nothing but a win will help them climb up in the top four race.
