Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has criticised Paul Pogba for ‘custard pieing’ Manchester United. During the international break, Pogba said that it would be a ‘dream’ to play under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

French journalist Julien Laurens also said that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola will eventually bring him to Real Madrid while Gareth Bale can stay at the club.

Speaking about Laurens’ comments, Nicol said, “This scrambles my brain, seriously it does. How the rhetoric today is that if the player and the agent want to go, then they’re going to be going. That kills me. We’re saying two opposite things here.

We’re saying that if Pogba wants to go he’ll be able to go, but if Bale doesn’t want to go then Bale won’t go. The clubs have got absolutely no chance. What’s going on here? This is absolutely ridiculous.

A guy like Paul Pogba can just turn round at a club like Manchester United – who by the way have done every single thing to help this guy financially, you name it – and then he’s just going to custard pie them whenever he fancies it and he can just go. I can’t get my brain around that, that is just completely wrong.”
